Canadian Multicultural Day

Saturday, June 27


2pm “World on a String”

Presented by Maritime Marionettes and streaming HERE - Celebrating Cultural Diversity, “World on a String” is inspired by the four corners of the world, and performed with four styles of marionettes embracing an audience of four generations, young and old. Interpretive scenes of Russia, China, USA, Africa and home are woven into a showcase of enchanting marionette artistry.

4pm Mini Bingo

streaming at HERE and locally on radio at 107.5 FM

Register and pick up your free book of 3 cards at The Town Market, 15 North Street - limit of one book

of three cards per player, but you may play books for friends, small gift items will be awarded to winners.





Wednesday, July 1


 10am - 9pm Boardwalk Story Walk

Take a walk along the boardwalk and discover the stories that appear along the way, stories start near Lockeport Elementary School and the gazebo.


12pm Community Sings O’ Canada

Please step out on your doorstep at noon and sing O’ Canada - if you’re in Lockeport and would like a musical accompaniment, tune your radio to 107.5 FM. (or nearby) Play from your car or even with a portable radio on the beach!


12:05pm Antique & Classic Car Procession

Cars will drive around Lockeport, out through East Green Harbour, then return to Lockeport for a few more streets.


1:30pm - 7:30pm Media Stream

Streaming historic films and photographs of past festivals interspersed with commentary and musical performances, Click HERE for the stream. Event will be simulcast on radio at 107.5 FM in Lockeport so you can enjoy from your car or even with a portable radio on the beach!

Featuring Disney's Classic "The Lion King". Run Time about 90 Mins. (Starts when it's dark enough) Old Son’s Ball Field, enter from Locke St., movie goers must remain in their vehicles.  [In case of bad weather this event will be postponed to next fine weekend evening (July 3, 4, or 5)] For more information click here

In addition to the events listed above, we will endeavour to offer a number of social media and community led activities in the days leading up to Canada Day including: a scavenger hunt; yard decorating contest, children’s art/photography contest and more.
